At Infiniteach, we are passionate about accessibility above all else. Helping individuals on the autism spectrum access academics, relationships, and their communities is why we exist. The next week of free autism resources will help support community accessibility.

Today's free autism resource is to support getting a haircut. For any young child, and many individuals on the spectrum, a haircut can be a scary event. there might be many reasons why it can be difficult: it is something that is out of the normal routine, it can provide unsettling sensory experiences (think water spray on head and buzzing of clippers), and there are sharp objects (scissors!) close to your head. Use this checklist to explain the steps of a haircut before you go for your next trim, and bring it with you and cross of the steps as you do them. The added structure and visuals will be helpful in making a haircut less intimidating!
